Terms and conditions
Last updated: September 13, 2026
This translation is provided for your convenience. If there is any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
These terms apply to signing up for and taking part in the experiences organized by Random Trips. By signing up and sending your deposit, you accept what is set out here.
1. Sign-up and spot confirmation
The process is the same for every trip with a published date:
- Choose your experience in the calendar and fill in the sign-up form.
- Send the deposit receipt via WhatsApp to confirm your spot.
- You will receive a confirmation with the meeting point and all the details of the trip.
Your spot is not reserved until we receive the deposit receipt. Spots are limited and are assigned in order of confirmation.
2. Prices and payments
Prices are published per person, and each experience states what is and is not included. Calendar trips are priced in Dominican pesos (RD$) and private experiences in US dollars (US$); the currency is always shown next to the price.
Experiences that allow it are paid on the site itself through PayPal, by card or with a PayPal account. The payment is processed by PayPal: Random Trips does not request, see or store your card details.
In all other cases —and for every calendar trip— payment is made outside the site, by bank transfer or deposit, and the receipt is sent via WhatsApp.
Any outstanding balance must be paid no later than 5 days before the date of the selected experience.
3. Cancellation by the traveler
What is refunded depends on how you paid for the experience:
3.1 Calendar trips
The booking amount secures your spot and is non-refundable. If you cannot attend:
- You can transfer your spot to someone else by letting us know at least 3 days in advance. No changes are allowed on the day of the trip: no one who is not signed up may show up.
- If you paid for the full trip and let us know before the full payment deadline, you lose the booking amount and the difference is refunded, or you can apply it to another experience.
- If you only paid the booking amount and no one takes your place, it is neither refunded nor transferred to another trip.
- If you let us know after the full payment deadline and no one takes your place, there is no refund.
- If you booked several spots and one person cannot go, they must be replaced: what they paid is not deducted from what the others owe.
- If the payment deadline passes without the full amount being paid, the spot is released.
If you cannot find a replacement, you can ask us whether someone on the waiting list can take your place.
3.2 Experiences paid on the site
Experiences paid on the site itself through PayPal are refunded according to how much time is left before the date of the experience:
- 30 days or more before the experience: 100% of the amount paid is refunded.
- Between 15 and 29 days before: 50% of the amount paid.
- Between 7 and 14 days before: 25% of the amount paid.
- Less than 7 days before, or if you do not show up: no refund.
The percentage is calculated on what you have paid up to the moment you cancel, not on the total price of the experience. Random Trips covers the fee the payment platform charges for the refund: it is not deducted from what you get back.
The non-refundable portion covers administrative costs, payment platform fees and the work already put into preparing the experience.
If the experience page states its own cancellation terms, those apply instead of this scale.
3.3 Private trips
Private experiences, which are quoted on request, are governed by the same refund scale and by the specific terms set out in the Cancellation policy for private trips.
4. Cancellation or changes by Random Trips
If Random Trips cancels a trip due to weather conditions, force majeure or other circumstances that may compromise safety or the proper running of the activity, you can choose between a refund of 100% of the amount paid or applying that amount to another available date or experience.
Random Trips may also change the itinerary, the order of activities, the schedule or the meeting point when weather, terrain, access, safety or operating conditions require it. In these cases, we will inform you of the changes as far in advance as possible.
Some trips may require a minimum number of participants to go ahead. If the minimum is not reached, Random Trips may cancel the activity and you can choose between a refund of 100% of the amount paid or applying it to another available date or experience.
5. Participants' obligations
We travel as a group, and that calls for some basic rules:
- Being on time is a matter of respect: the bus cannot wait. Anyone who is not at the meeting point at the agreed time misses the trip and loses what they paid.
- We take care of natural spaces: whatever you bring in, you take back out.
- We always follow the guides' instructions, especially safety instructions.
- We keep an atmosphere of respect and good company with the whole group.
Random Trips may exclude from an activity, with no right to a refund, anyone who puts their own safety or the group's at risk, or prevents the experience from running normally.
6. Health, physical condition and activity risks
Each experience states its difficulty level and any conditions that may be required to take part. By making a booking, you declare that your health and physical condition are compatible with the activity, and you agree to inform us truthfully of any medical condition, allergy, treatment, limitation or relevant circumstance that may affect your participation or the care you may need during the trip.
This information will only be used when necessary for the proper organization of the activity, the participant's safety and the response to a possible emergency, in accordance with our Privacy policy.
Withholding relevant information that may affect your safety or that of the group may be grounds for limiting or preventing your participation in certain activities when, in the judgment of Random Trips or of those in charge of the activity, there is a reasonable risk to your safety or that of others.
Nature, adventure, hiking, river, waterfall, beach and other outdoor experiences may involve inherent risks, such as uneven terrain, falls, slips, changes in the weather, water currents, insect bites, contact with plants or wildlife and other factors inherent to the environment. Random Trips takes reasonable prevention and safety measures for each experience, but this does not eliminate all the risks inherent to the activity.
Insurance coverage: insurance coverage, where it exists, depends on the experience booked and will be stated expressly in the activity information before you book. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the price of the activity does not include individual medical or personal accident insurance for the participant.
7. Minors
Minors may take part in experiences that allow it, provided they are accompanied by their father, mother, legal guardian or a responsible adult.
Random Trips may request authorization from the father, mother or legal guardian and the documents needed to prove the minor's identity and age.
For activities involving a high level of difficulty or risk, a minimum age may be set or the participation of minors may be restricted for safety reasons.
The responsible adult is in charge of supervising the minor throughout the experience.
8. Luggage and personal belongings
Each participant is responsible for their personal belongings. We recommend bringing only what you need and not leaving valuables unattended in the vehicle or at stops.
What we recommend bringing on a trip is listed on the experience itself.
9. Photos and videos
During trips we take photos and videos to promote our experiences on the website and on social media.
If you do not want to appear in that material, let the team know before the trip or write to us at info@randomtrips.co and we will respect it, including removing material that has already been published.
10. Liability
Random Trips organizes and coordinates the experiences and is responsible for exercising due care in that organization. It is not liable for damages resulting from failure to follow the guides' instructions, from health information withheld by the participant or from force majeure.
Some activities take place in natural settings and carry their own risk, which the participant accepts when signing up.
11. Complaints and governing law
Any complaint can be sent to info@randomtrips.co. These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic.
