At Random Trips we process personal data so we can reply to you, organize our trips and look after you during them. Here we explain exactly which data, what for, and what you can do about it.

1. Who is responsible for your data

  • Data controller: RANDOM TRIPS, S.R.L.
  • RNC (tax ID): 1-33-54011-8
  • Registered address: Calle Primera, No. 20, Sector Enriquillo, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
  • Email for personal data matters: info@randomtrips.co

2. What data we collect and how

We only collect what you give us yourself through the forms on the site:

  • Contact form and service forms: name, email, phone and whatever you write in the message. Service forms also ask for information about your school, company or group.
  • ALORANDOM newsletter: your email address.
  • Signing up for a trip: first and last name, date of birth, sex, nationality, city of residence, national ID card (cédula) or passport, email, phone, emergency contact (name, relationship and phone) and health information, including blood type.

When the contact form is sent, the IP address it is sent from is also recorded, as a security measure against automated submissions.

3. Health data

The health information and blood type we ask for when you sign up are sensitive data. We process them for one purpose only: to look after you properly during the experience and to act quickly in an emergency.

Only the team coordinating the trip has access to them, and they are not used for anything else or shared for commercial purposes.

4. What we use your data for

  • To reply to your inquiry or prepare the proposal you ask for.
  • To manage your sign-up and send you the details of the trip.
  • To look after you during the experience and coordinate an emergency response if needed.
  • To send you our upcoming trips, only if you subscribed to the newsletter.

We do not use your data to build profiles, and we do not make automated decisions about you.

5. Legal basis for processing

We process your data with your consent, which you give when you submit each form, and because it is necessary to provide the service you request. For health data, consent is specific to the purpose described in section 3.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us, without affecting anything done before.

6. Minors

Random Trips' services are not specifically aimed at minors. When a minor's personal data must be provided, it must be given and authorized by their father, mother, guardian or legal representative, who is the one giving consent.

The participation of minors is subject to the conditions set out in the Terms and conditions and in the specific information for each experience.

7. Who we share it with

We do not sell or transfer your data. To operate, the site relies on providers that process it on our behalf:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): hosting of the website and the database, on servers located in the United States (us-east-1 region).
  • Postmark: sending of emails, both those replying to something you did —sign-up and booking confirmations and quotes— and the ALORANDOM newsletter if you subscribed. Postmark also manages the unsubscribe list.
  • Slack: internal receipt of request and sign-up notifications, so the team can handle them.
  • PayPal: payment processing for experiences paid on the site. PayPal processes payment data as an independent controller, in accordance with its own privacy policy.

This involves an international transfer of data outside the Dominican Republic. We choose providers with appropriate security measures and confidentiality commitments.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as necessary to manage your relationship with Random Trips and, afterwards, for the periods required by applicable law to meet legal obligations and address possible liabilities.

Contact form data will be kept for as long as needed to handle and reply to your inquiry. Data used to send commercial communications or the newsletter will be kept until you withdraw your consent or unsubscribe.

9. Your rights

Under Law 172-13 on Personal Data Protection of the Dominican Republic, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection regarding your data.

To do so, write to us at info@randomtrips.co stating which right you wish to exercise. We may ask you to prove your identity before replying.

10. Security

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your data: the website is encrypted (HTTPS), and access to sign-up information is restricted to the team that needs it and protected by authentication.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change the way we process data, we will update this page and the date shown above.
